CANDY IS IN FOAL.
I can’t even put into words how excited I am. I’ve wanted to breed my own foal for so many years, but life always found a way to get in the way. It just never happened… until now.
And to be able to do this with a mare I absolutely love and adore, and a stallion I fell in love with the very first time I saw him years ago arrive at DaMar Arabians, makes this even more special.
This foal was loved before it was ever conceived. And now that it’s officially on its way, I’m feeling beyond grateful, emotional, and so excited to finally be in this moment.
A HUGE thank you to Damien and Nicole for helping make this happen. I’m so excited to have you both on this journey with me. 2026 is going to be a very exciting year.
Fair warning… this is about to be the most photographed foal that has ever existed. The baby is due December 10th.
Baby Time for Candy
Candy and I are off on our next big adventure, one I’ve dreamed about for so many years: breeding my very own foal.
The moment I saw Truth MI arrive at DaMar Arabians here in QLD, I was in love. He looked like he’d stepped straight out of the pin-up posters I had on my wall as a kid, those iconic, breathtaking Arabians I always dreamed of owning. But he’s not just stunning, he’s the kindest, sweetest, most affectionate horse. From the start, I knew I had to breed something to him one day.
A couple weeks ago Candy headed off to DaMar Arabians with Nicole and Damien, and the baby journey has officially begun! I can’t explain how excited I am. This has been a dream of mine for so long. I’ve followed Truth's journey closely, been to almost all his shows, except one, when I broke my leg and physically couldn’t go!
I love these two horses deeply, and knowing both the sire and dam personally makes this so much more meaningful. This foal is already so loved, and it’s not even conceived yet!
I’ll be documenting the whole process here, every step, every milestone. I can’t wait to share it all with you.

What a great weekend we had in Gatton QLD. Candy really made us proud, earning Novice Horse of the Year thanks to Tanisha Mccuin skilful ride and also claiming Champion in Halter shown by a non pro with Angela Garnett-McGillivray. A huge thank you to Tanisha, Ange, Ally and Karen Mccuin for the incredible care, dedication, and love you pour into preparing Candy for each show. We couldn't do it without you and I’m so grateful for her progress and these wonderful moments!
And a big shoutout to the Arabian Downs Show Committee for all your hard work, and to the amazing sponsors who made this weekend possible. Thanks to you all, we shared another day of laughter, friendship, and unforgettable memories with our beloved Arabians and friends.

Success at Candy’s first show under saddle
Sunday 28th July 2024
What a fantastic day we had at the Youth and Non-Pro Show organised by The Downs Arabian Club and held in Gatton, QLD Australia!
Ange, who is new to halter, showed Candy for the first time and they performed wonderfully together, ultimately winning Champion Derivative shown by a non-pro. The competition was fierce with many impressive derivatives in her class. I’m incredibly proud of both Ange and Candy.
Candy (Diamond Road Candy Crush) continued her winning streak by securing the High Point award with Tanisha in her age group. Despite a few green horse moments by Candy, Tanisha guided her through the challenges, with a thrilling win in the Novelty event. Candy showed a real passion for the sporting activities. It looks like we have a budding sport horse on our hands! Great job Tanisha!!
A huge thank you to the sponsors and to the Downs Club for hosting such a fantastic show for youth and non-pros. Special thanks to Judge Sharyn Hungerford for her patience and guidance she showed with all the competitors. This event was a perfect introduction to the wonderful world of Arabians for my friend, and I think she’ll be doing more halter classes with Candy in the future. A huge thank you to Karen for having Candy look show-ring ready with her magic touch and care.

September 6th and 7th 2024
We took Candy to her first Agi show, the Beaudesert show this weekend, and what a ride it was! It was only her second time out under saddle, and we couldn't be prouder of how she handled it. Friday morning started off a bit nerve-wracking with all the excitement, but once Candy found her rhythm, she blew us away—securing multiple firsts, a champion title, and a reserve champion over the two days!
Candy hasn't always been the easiest, and she's kept us on our toes, but all good horses need time. When it clicks, it really clicks. Huge shoutout to Tanisha for the incredible work she's done with Candy, and to our amazing girl gang—Karen, Ally, and Ange—for the work, laughs, memories, and the wins made it all so worth it.

Remembering Santiago
7 years have passed since my beloved Santiago left us unexpectedly. Yet, his spirit lives on vividly through the pages of a new teen book series, immortalising him as the legend he truly was. Anyone who had the privilege of knowing him adored him. Santiago was no ordinary horse; he was that once-in-a-lifetime horse who left an indelible mark on my heart. Instead of dwelling on the sadness of his departure, I choose to celebrate the incredible opportunity I had to share my life with such an extraordinary horse.
Even five years later, Santiago continues to enrich my life through the pages of the book, offering me experiences and joys that I would never have had if he hadn't been a part of my life. His legacy lives on, a testament to the enduring impact of our cherished moments together and what the Arabian horse has given me.
Im truely blessed to be on this incredible journey with the Santiago books! It all started a decade ago when we released the first book about Santiago, and now, 10 years later, we're diving into his teen series. Here we have sisters buzzing with excitement over the first book and, a decade later, they're all geared up for the next chapter in Santiago's adventures. The story has evolved and grown alongside these amazing girls. Here's to another decade of captivating tales and unforgettable moments with Santiago!
